The best home sitting service in California.

Hi I'm Alex. I live in Oregon and I'm a professional handyman. I offer house sitting service in Santa Cruz, California in the months of June, July, and August. Not only I can look after your property, but also repair a few things while I'm there. Even if you don't need any repairs, I can go over everything and make sure that things are functioning properly. Below you can find more information about me and my professional life.

Benefits of house sitting service

Home Security
  • Lived-in home is less likely to be targeted by unwanted visitors like burglars, and squatters.
  • Break-ins are less likely to happen when lights are on/off, visible presence is maintained
Property Maintenance
  • Regular sitters usually can handle tasks like watering plants, taking out trash, and basic upkeep. Alex can do all that and much more.
Unlike regular house sitter, Alex can handle most of the emergency situations
  • Water leaks, burst pipe, or burst waterline can happen even while home is vacant.
  • Gas leaks
  • Electrical problems are less common in a vacant home if all electrical equipment is unplugged from the outlets.

Alex and Lana

We are living in Oregon since  2000 and did not leave the evergreen state for 24 years. In 2024, we realized that our time to go and visit sunny California had come, and in 2024 we went for our first road trip to the Golden State. We took Highway 101 and drove through Oregon and the Northern part of California, and then continued our journey along Highway 1 in California. Within less then 24 hours in California we had the impression that we were not even in another state of America, but on a completely different paradise planet. Everything was amazing, magnificent landscapes surrounded us on all sides. Rocky cliffs with hills and valleys, giant redwood trees, strange exotic shrubs, flowers, centuries-old eucalyptus and other amazing plants amazed us with their power, grace and novelty. It would take time to express the excitement we experienced, to be brief, we were so delighted that we have decided to come back to sunny California at least once a year.

Our first trip to California

Our first trip to California was complicated only by the fact that at each stop we had to disassemble and then assemble the tent and all the necessary accessories, so for our next trip we decided to prepare better. Since I use a large van for my handyman work, it was decided to redesign it so that it could be transformed into a camper van if necessary. The bus reconstruction operation was successful and now it takes no more than an hour to transform the bus into a camper van, and at the same time about 75% of all of my tools remain in place and can be replaced with things needed for the trip if necessary.

We are grateful when we are given the opportunity to look after someones house.

Thank you
